What is prayer?

That's a silly question, some might respond. And yet it's a question others of us might do well to ask ourselves.

Prayer is several things. To begin with, it's a state of mind … you and I being mindful of the presence of God in our lives. It's gratitude for the blessings we've received.

Prayer is also active. When the Bible tells us that God is "jealous," it means that God doesn't want to be taken for granted. Just as you and I work at enriching our relationships with friends and loved ones, we need to work at building and deepening our friendship with God.

Prayer and devotion to the Eucharist are at the very heart of every Salvatorian's vocation. For this reason, Salvatorian Fathers and Brothers celebrate Mass each day for all persons enrolled in our Salvatorian Family, as well as a second Mass for all benefactors, both the living and those departed.

We also celebrate a monthly Novena of Masses and prayers in keeping with the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church.
