A Prayer for Comfort and Healing

Dear God,
   You know our most intimate concerns,
and thus I come to you as one who is troubled
   with (name the illness or crisis).
Please ease my worry and my sorrow,
   and grant me healing, or if it be your will,
the grace and strength to cope with this suffering
   by offering it up to you.
I ask this in the name of Jesus,
   Your Son and our Savior,

                               Amen.

A Prayer for Peace

Dear God,
You who have promised us
   A peace beyond all understanding,
Help bring peace to our world today.
   Touch our hearts with your love,
Your compassion, and mercy,
   So that we are transformed into
Instruments of your will, and agents
   Of the peace that only you can give.
We ask this through Jesus, your beloved Son,
   And our Savior throughout eternity.

                              Amen.

 

Prayer for Guidance

 

Teach me your ways, O Lord, and lead me to live according to your truth.

Psalm 25:4-5

 

I offer you, Lord, my thoughts to be fixed on you;

my words to have you for their theme;

my actions to reflect my love for you; and

my suffering to be endured

for your greater glory.

 

I want to do what you ask of me,

in the way you ask,

for as long as you ask, because you ask it.
