Fr. Jordan's Cause

Some Wonderful News!

frjor250 As you may well know, for years now the Society of the Divine Savior has been working and praying for the beatification of our founder, Father Francis Jordan. Just recently, Pope Benedict XVI authorized the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to issue a decree confirming that Father Jordan did indeed live a life of heroic virtue - a primary requirement in the beatification process.

The Holy Father made the announcement at the same time at which he declared the date for the beatification of Pope John Paul II, this coming May 1. Father Jordan already is declared a "Servant of God" based upon his life's story. Now we need a miracle - and I mean just that!

The Congregation must determine that a miraculous healing has occurred through the intercession of Father Jordan. Evidence of what may well be a miraculous healing in the case of a cancer victim already has been submitted to the Congregation. If determined to be valid, Father Jordan's cause will move forward, and a date for his beatification may be set.

We Salvatorians are overjoyed at this happy announcement! It encourages us to strive all the harder for holiness in our own lives and ministries. Please join us in praying that Father Jordan soon may be declared "Blessed" - and, not too long afterwards, canonized as a saint of our holy Catholic Church.

You may send reports of Father Jordan's intercession to:

Father David Bergner, SDS
Salvatorian USA Provincial Offices

Father David will forward these reports to our Salvatorian offices in Rome.
